Libereka launches the world’s first “Application Immunity” program for students to provide cover for loss of University application in the post-COVID world

The study abroad / international mobility sector has been hit by the closure of University campuses across major study destinations, travel/immigration restrictions across the board, and partial or complete lockdowns at almost all of the major countries due to COVID-19.

While multiple surveys have shown that study-abroad plans have been impacted in the short-term, there is also some positive data about deferment rather than cancellation of such plans by (non-EU and International) students. The outlook, therefore, in the mid to long term is not very bad, and many will still want to travel to the major study destinations to start their international careers.

However, not a lot has been done to help these students to navigate through the course of the next phase of planning and preparations. Application loss risk still remains a major issue for them, for factors that are entirely not relevant to their application profile, eligibility, or the strength of their application itself. The ongoing limiting factors - including sudden travel restrictions, visa challenges, etc. may still remain after the major lockdown period is over, and may be the primary reasons for loss of application - something that can deflate the motivation to study abroad for such students.

To reduce the risks of application loss for candidates who are keen to apply to postgraduate programs at international Universities, Libereka has launched the world's first "Application Immunity" program that will allow candidates to get a refund of their application cost (for up to 5 applications) in a given year. "Our attempt is to reduce and possibly remove the external risks, to allow students to focus on applying to their choice of postgraduate programs. We are processing application-immunity requests from students who are keen to study full-time MBA, Business Masters, STEM Masters, and other postgraduate programs at study destinations such as the UK, Germany, Canada, USA, and the EU region. This is the first serious attempt by an organization to solve candidate side issues in these uncertain times, and we will continue to deliver more such products and services to students in the coming weeks", says Soumik Ganguly, CEO of Libereka.

The Application immunity program has a free sign-up available to all students, and Libereka will verify their academic credentials (degree certificate, transcripts) for FREE to ensure that only credible students get access to the program. Libereka will also do a complete degree equivalency and a match-analysis using its native Ai-powered matching-algorithm - to recommend a shortlist of programs that the candidate can then choose to add to the immunity program. Candidates can add/ remove programs after consulting with Libereka editors and experts, and then a final list of 5 programs is drawn up to provide immunity. The immunity doesn't include programs that candidates have already applied to.

To ensure that all immunity conditions are met, Libereka manages the application prep, essays, application check, and submissions to all 5 shortlisted programs through the full-admissions-support service available to candidates as a low cost of $995 only. The services are delivered by Libereka's team of editors/ admissions experts who have over 10 years of domain experience, and are alumni of some of the best institutions in the world, such as – MIT, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, LSE, London Business School, among others.

The Application immunity program of Libereka will link up to the flagship “Guaranteed Funding/ Scholarship” product of the platform. Universities will be able to participate in Libereka's core platform of edCoins based scholarships system, in order to offer conditional scholarship and micro-funding offers to interested candidates who may have a longer application cycle. This system allows Universities to have a global and continuous communication with candidates throughout the application journey, while receiving a commitment to join from these candidates who may accept the scholarship/funding offers that would be unlocked once they have paid the first semester/year fee for the program.
